The heart of it was the large, homely and superbly equipped kitchen complete with AGA, ample fridge space and 2 well used dishwashers.
Public rooms enabled us to have sing-songs, a  quiz, improvise The Cube TV game, sit and relax and chat and have a seated dinner for 23 of us in the Dining Room– unique.
The bedrooms are all good sized and comfortable, and it was easy for us to select who slept where, and to have our own space both at night and during the day when some of the teenagers disappeared with Tablets and Mobile phones (good free Wi-Fi ).
The outside space is terrific with tree house, BBQ house (a great way to cook and eat outside or in), and nice grounds to explore – the Scouter amongst us did a campfire sausage sizzle in the woods, complete with Treasure Hunt one night. Football and rugby on the lawn a daily pleasure.
Some of us played snooker most nights and the Table Tennis competition was intense!
This is a wonderful place to come to – outside and in – in a lovely peaceful setting but not far from real civilisation (and Supermarket food delivery!) and we all agreed we’d do it again before too long.
Grateful thanks to Fiona for her hosting skills”.
