Highland Wildcat Trails
Voted as “Best Destination in the UK” by Mountain Bike Rider magazine, Highland Wildcat offers trails for all abilities that link directly to Golspie village and its local services.
National Cycle Route
The Sutherland stretch of the National Cycle Route passes through Golspie, Lairg, Tongue, Melvich, Kinbrace and Helmsdale. The route continues north through Caithness via Helmsdale, Kinbrace, Melvich, Thurso and John O’Groats.
Golf
Great courses within easy reach: Skibo Castle, Tain, Golspie, Brora, Bonar Bridge and the most famous of all, Royal Dornoch. The Championship course, rated 16th in the world, is classic links, with the first 8 holes following the natural grades of the old dune embankments, while the remainder skirts the sandy beaches of Dornoch Bay.
Salmon and Sea Trout fishing
This is available on Loch Brora (boat fishing only) approximately 40 minutes drive from Dornoch.
Troutquest
TroutQuest offers fly fishing holidays for salmon, sea trout and wild brown trout at our base in Ross-shire, and guided excursions throughout the Northern Highlands
Wild Brown Trout fishing
Good quality brown trout are available on Loch Buidhe with smaller fish on Loch Lagain, both lochs enjoying fine scenery and good sport. Bank fishing can be as productive, should it be too windy for the boat.
